If you cannot put your recycling and waste containers out for collection, you can apply for assisted collections.
You can get assisted collections if:
- you are disabled and cannot carry the containers to the pavement for collection,
- there is no one else in the home who can carry the containers, and
- there are no family members, neighbours or carers who can help.
To ask for assisted collections, please call Connect to Cardiff (C2C) on 029 2087 2087.
Our Recycling and Waste Team will arrange a doorstep visit to your property to make sure collections would be safe for our crews and agree an appropriate collection point. We may ask you to consider changing from a bin collection service to a bag collection service. This could make it easier for you to put your recycling and waste out for collection.
We do not offer assisted collections for residents using communal bins or residents who can put their waste directly on to the pavement outside their property.
Our crews cannot enter your home to collect your waste.
If your request is approved, the service will start from your next scheduled collection.
We will send you a letter every 2 years to ask if you still need the service.
If you do not respond to the letter, we will stop the service. You can ask for a new assessment at any time.
