Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan population needs assessment

The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 introduced a duty on local authorities and Local Health Boards to prepare and publish an assessment of the care and support needs of the population, including carers who need support.This report details the second assessment for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan following the first published in 2017.

Cardiff and Vale's Population Needs Assessment 2022 should be read alongside the complementary Well-being Assessments for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to gain a comprehensive understanding of the region.

The Well-being Assessments, required under the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, investigate social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of an area which provide a detailed overview of the wider determinants of health.
