A child or young person is considered to have additional learning needs if they have difficulties that have a significant, long-term impact on their learning.
They may have: difficulties with learning, communication and interaction, a physical or sensory disability, or difficulties with behavioural, emotional, and social development.
ALN was previously known as special education needs.
