We would like to hear what you think about our parking proposals for Aldsworth Road, Canton.
Following complaints from residents of inconsiderate parking in the road, we are proposing to introduce a permit parking scheme.
This means that drivers parking on Aldsworth Road would need to have a valid permit.
This will help to:
- protect space for residents and their visitors,
- prevent inconsiderate parking, and
- encourage walking, cycling and use of public transport.
Residents of Aldsworth Road and 560 to 570 Cowbridge Road East will be able to apply for:
- up to 2 permits for their vehicles, and
- a permit allowance for visitors.
Residents will not need permits to park on private driveways.
We may also introduce some new yellow lines to prevent obstructive or dangerous parking, such as near junctions or on corners.

Following the feedback, we have decided to proceed with the scheme. We will now start the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process.
You will be able to view detailed parking designs, and formally object to the scheme if you want to.
The making of a TRO is a lengthy legal process and can take 6 to 9 months to complete.
